Is there a way to tell besides the seats, The motor has a lot of work done and the heads are not factory (don't say 352) and it is healthy.
Yes, post the Warranty tag and we can decode it for you. The trim code will tell if it's a real Ranger or not. Even if it's just a conversion, you still got a very cool truck! One thing I would be concerned about is the fan is not close enough to the radiator to pull air through it, so you might have an over heating problem.
I should have took pics of the vin plate, but I do remember the something 81. Won't be able to get it off the hill it's on until the rain slows down. I will still have to block and tackle it down a muddy road with a sharp left half way (about a 150' overall).
I would say that you need to put a shroud on it and move the fan in a little bit so that the shroud collects the air and cools it down. I have seen guys put the fan up close to the radiator and give up the space that is needed for the air to collect in the shroud . The idea is to pull air in and circulate
Thanks for the advice. I saved the radiator and shroud off the 66 I did last winter, so no problem there. Measured the stroke at almost 4" so it will be a 410 or 428, will need to pull the head to tell, hoping for the 428.
Still the burning question which heads are on there. Fe cast iron heads without casting numbers?
C4AE-6090-G flowed and ported. Got I home today. block is C6ME. By the end of week it will be resealed and I will know all its secrets (that's the plan). This is the Ad for the sale of this truck 2014.
