Nice! The Slick 60's Ranger registry Chad turned me on too only show three 65 F250's. Do you still have the cruise o matic? I have never owned a automatic anything and hoping it's not a money pit. It did drive here but seemed like you had to get the R's up to go. Got a 79 F250 front suspension so stopping is no problem.

It could also be a hooped tranny.

Yes it still has original 352 & COM,its amazing how your vin plate has weathered compared to mine, makes me wonder if the vin numbers in between our trucks if they where all rangers or just 250 or camper specials,my truck has always been in California and the truck is super rust free,i have just had the bed off to paint it body colour underneath and repaint inside the bed with a special epoxy ship paint (slightly a different shade on colour )after removing that useless bed liner which was hiding the beginnings of rust due to the hot and cold temperatures which i assume causes condensation. It would have corroded and i would not have been any of the wiser!!!,i thought i would paint the back of the truck while i could gain access after removing the bed,it didn't stop their as i painted the roof too and i looked inside behind the fuel tank to check the cab corners, wow like new so both sides have had 1 gallon of used trans fluid first and then 1/2 gallon of fish oil and i let it soak for 3 days then drained out and left to dry hopefully the welder will never have to do any work in these areas for the next 50 years, plus all my bolts have a coat of copper grease,i need to do some mechanical work over this holiday period and remove the interior trim and carpet so i will look for the original ranger seat fixings and take some photos as you know the original CA owner removed the seats and replaced with a bench so he could take his wife and daughter out,he said they where toast when i spoke to him and he chucked them out,i managed to buy the seat brackets the last time i was in Florida just need to get some seats now but shipping to NZ is horrendous,i am looking to buy a few V12 XJS out of CA so that may be my opportunity, not sure if my truck had center console but it seems to have ever other option of the time,i just keep plugging along and will be glad to drive it in our summer.

This was the first time i had picked up a spray gun and probably not the best thing to try on was a two tone paint job,but quite happy with the result and hey when i had a run which only seemed to happen on the white i let it dry rubbed it back and blew it over, the colour match was great considering the first paint was put on 10 years ago and sat in the Californian sun shine then on my drive in all weathers for 3 years, the door and front wing is the original colours,i just need to let it harden give it some 2000 grit paper and some 3000 grit polishing paste and finish of with high wax polish,so i should get a decent shine if not will have it done professionally in a few years time when i have a garage big enough to store it in.i just love this truck and i have left my unloved interceptor convertible in the garage but hopefully that's next on the list say mid january

Got the oil pressure back to 15 psi @ idle. It was the remote filter setup. Started up and the valves are clackin away. Vacuum is 12 and steady. Tried to do a bleed down test on lifters. They don't move, solid lifters. These C4AE 6090-G heads have double springs and adjustable rockers. Like I said before stroke is about 4" (measured with a stick) so 410 or 428. My best guess at this point, someone built a hot motor. Time to get rid of that flex a lite fan and put this 5 blade and a shroud.

Update: Here we are 4 winters later sitting on blocks. I walk by it many times a day. I'm still on the fence with color. Either Rangoon Red/Wimbledon White or Chrome Yellow/ Wimbledon White, with black interior, The cab and camper's full of boxes of new parts waiting for me to stop working all the time. My 66 F250 is still running like a champ 6 years on with minimal work. Hopefully folks will stop calling me to do this that and the other to their house. We'll see how that goes.
