52 fender welt
Hello everyone, happy thanksgiving. My son is coming out this weekend to help me put on rear fenders on my 52 f3. Should I use a light adhesive and put the rubber fender welting onto the fender ahead of time ? This welting will have to be notched at the tight curves and holes poked thru it for bolts. Larry

I have been using plain old rubber cement to hold the antisqueak material in place, and I will use it when I get to the fender well. Works perfectly.

Definately glue it to the fender before putting it on the bed. I had good luck with the black weather strip adhesive. It didn't set up too quick so I could move it around a little if needed, then used short 1x4 boards and c-clamps to hold it in place while it set up.

A light adhesive or even something as simple as strategically placed masking tape will work. Anything to help hold the welting in place while the fender is positioned and bolted.

Thanks for your input, fellas. I , and my trusty assistant, (my wife), will make sure to get the welting on before he gets here. He gets to put the nuts on the fenders since he bends much better than us! Larry
