Where can I find someone to install a Tru Trac?

My '16 F-350 has an open diff and I managed to get stuck last weekend in some mild mud. I have been thinking of getting the Detroit Tru Trac installed but my local mechanic doesn't do this kind of work.

I tried Googlimg it but the closest I found was in Raleigh, NC.
Im near Roanoke, VA.

Any suggestions?

Im also in the market to have this done in my 04.
I searched old threads and asked questions around my town and i was qouted $1600 just for labor but other guys on here said they got it for $1000 parts and labor. Currently the truetrac diff is $622 online. The consesus seems to be that shops that cater to the offroad Jeep crowd are the ones best equipped for differential work.

How pathetic and sad is that. As much as they are asking for these trucks it should come with some sort of traction control in the rear. It should come with push button diff lock. My Tundra does. It actually uses the brakes to lock the spinning free wheel.

Most transmission shops deal with everything under the tub. Also check 4x4 shops, Jeep shops etc. It cost me $800 for 4.10’s, rebuild kit and install. I paid $250 for the Truetrac new off EBay.

It really isn't a hard job to do yourself. I did mine in an afternoon. New bearings means you don't have to try and pull the old carrier bearings off. Check your backlash with a dial indicator when you take it apart and then check it with the new one. You probably won't have to change any shims.

Here are a couple of driveline shops near you. I have no experience with either obviously. Might want to give one of them a call.

Are there any aftermarket e-lockers available? I really like my factory e-locker in my F350.

Amy mechanic put mine in about 3 hrs. He said it wasn't bad to do. Any good mechanic should be able to do it.

the ever increasing cost of the new trucks has money in the price to recoop past warranty repairs.....
