03' F250 7.3 Super Duty multiple preset tune info?
Hi,
I'm new to the forum and hope this is posted in the right place. I have an 03 F250 7.3 here in Australia. I do a reasonable amount of towing around the 4 tons from time to time. Although the majority of my driving is fairly empty and no towing most of the time. I have heard in the U.S you can buy after market products that plug in and have about ten preset tunes in them. I've heard you can for instance, select a tune for when just commuting with no load that changes the gearbox changes and fuel inputs that give you better fuel economy or more power when you want it depending on the tune. I'm not really interested in going down the path of putting in larger injectors or a bigger turbo etc. Thanks in advance,
Cheers

welcome to FTE.
a chip added to the computer sounds like what you want. there are quite a few different chips, and tuners available. a simple one would be the DP tuners F-5 chip.
this gets stacked to the computer and a cable runs up to a switcher mounted on the dash. the chip needs to be have the tunes loaded into it at DP tuners.
then there is the F-6, about the same thing, only you can download tunes to it through the computer.
then you have the monitor type tuners like the DP Infinity, or the PHP Hydra.
i use the simple approach in my 02 7.3 truck with the DP F-5 and 80HP econo tune, plus the 60 HP tow tune.
i have other tunes in the chip, but these two are the only ones i use.
