Fog light wiring

Fog light wiring
I own a 2000 F-350 and recently purchased a set of fog lights from Ford and can find no wiring for them in my truck. Did this truck come from the factory with wiring for fog lights? If not what is the best way to wire up my lights. All help greatly appreciated for you wise gentlemen.

I added fog lights to my 2004 and it didnt have factory wiring either. I would have had to buy the factory setup for a ridiculous price and then they would only trim on with the low beams.
So I went to the auto parts store and bought a 12volt relay,
12volt+ is direct from the battery
12volt switch is from my passenger running light bulb
negative is ran to the negative on the paste get front fender
wire is all 14ga, soldered and marine heat shrinked with a waterproof mini fuse holder.
been six or seven years with zero issues, when I get home from work today I can post some pictures

My 99 didn't have the wiring either when I went to install fog lights. I just skipped the ford fog lights and put rigid pods mounted on aluminum bar stock were the fog lights would go from the factory. I used the wiring harness that rigid provides with their lights to wire them. From all the reading I have done the factory fog lights are not very bright, but from experience the rigids are insane.

Yeah you usually have to wire it yourself, using a relay is best practice. Most guys trigger them either with the low beam or parking light wire, personally I did the parking light wire. If you bought the stock Ford mounts and fogs, you might not even have the mounting points on your factory bumper. I know my original bumper didn't but I luckily was replacing the bumper at the same time due to rust and the new bumper came with the appropriate holes. You might want to take a peek.

Bob,
As a former Seabee myself, I’ll try to help a brother out. I added fogs to my ‘00 Excursion last spring. Mine didn’t have brackets or any of the wiring. Nickmike, a frequent Excursion and 7.3 poster and genuinely good guy went to a wrecking yard in Texas and got the brackets for me. While at it he pulled the wiring harness complete and the headlight switch with the fog option. I decided to install my fogs with a separate switch, so I’d be happy to send you the wiring harness and factory headlight/foglight switch for the price of a medium USPS flat rate box. You’d still need mounting brackets. Let me know if you are interested.

If you buy the fogs aftermarket like I did, they typically come with brackets. I think I paid 50-60 total for both sides with bracket/light combo. Being aftermarket, they did require slight alteration to the bracket but it was an extra 2 minutes. But if your bumper lacks the mounting holes for the brackets, that’s where the problem will be.
