6.4L Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor

6.4L Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor
I have a 2008 F250 with the 6.4L diesel that I purchased a few months back. It has been occasionally idling rough after it warms up. It doesn't seem to be throwing any codes or dash lights. After doing some reading, I have heard the fuel rail pressure sensor is notorious for going bad in the 6.4's. I replaced my fuel filters about 500 miles ago. Is this something I can replace in my garage with basic tools? Do I need to prime the fuel system after replacing? If so, do you prime it the same way as you would after replacing the fuel filter's? Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, I checked the codes with a scanner and nothing was showing up. I did not check it while it was idling rough. I took the valve cover off last night and currently waiting on the FRPS to arrive. Do you know what size socket it takes and what the torque specs are? The rubber valve cover gasket appears to be in good shape. Should I replace it as well?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Its been a while since I was in there so no, can’t tell you the size. You could try a deep well socket ...it might clear the connection.
while you have it off....I’m trying to solve a mystery....is there a seal in the area of the valve cover hole and the threaded nipple that the fuel line attaches to?
Btw, you have to torque the fitting ad well...I’m recalling a drag torque and when I did mine it wasn’t clear if that line was one time use so I replaced mine.
