2005 passanger side cam replacement
i've been lurking for some time now just reading all the old posts trying to gain knowledge for my first v10 2005 f350 160k.
I got a ticking on the passenger side and pulled the valve cover off and lucky me the cam is shot. Got new lifters, rockers and passenger side cam on the way but I have a few questions if you can help.
1.) I think I need a new bolt to hold the gear onto the cam right?
2.) Can I just pull the cam and replace all the lifters and rockers then sequentially tighten the bolts down a little at a time to install. or do I need to do like the manual says and leave certain rockers out and then install after torqueing down the cam?
3.) anytips you can think of to save me some grief while doing this?
Probably have more Questions but I sympathize with all who have worked on these in the engine bay(Tight).
Thanks in advance!
Love this sight!

I put all the lifters and rockers back in, then put the cam in. It's a bit tricky because everything is aluminum and you don't want to mess any threads up, but it's doable.
As for the front bolt, I only replaced mine because I rounded off some of the edges getting it broken loose. The new bolt will not be the same size as the old bolt, just FYI. You don't really need a new bolt though.
Don't forget to soak your lifters overnight.

You'll also need two specialty tools, the rocker removal tool specific to the 3V Triton, and the timing wedge tool. Both are necessary.
Oh, and removing most of the ignition wire harness makes getting the valve covers on/off easier. Also don't forget to scrape off the rubber gasket material from the front seams of the heads and replace it with high heat liquid gasket before you put the valve cover back on.
I watched your videos (wish I had a lift like you) you kind of skipped over the cam install so I didn't get a good feel for it.
I and lots of others appreciate you taking the time to make the videos. Keep up the good work!
and thanks again.

edit: I don't know what years the trucks started coming with the new rockers, but my 2008 had the old ones.
