Winter/snow tires for F-350
#78
I had 20" Hakkapeliitta's on my 15 CCSB & while I felt traction was great, I did feel like they did lose a little steering grip at times. Nothing scary, just noticed it. I never had that with my General Grabbers so that's what I've gone with on the new 18 F350. Jury is still out as I've only had them a few days with clear weather..

This winter I have 275/65R20 studded nokian hakkapeliitta lt
and this are really a winter tire..
i have last 8 winters had nitto,bf,michelin m&t tires all studded when new... and non of those come even close to nokia tyre..
off course if you have thin ice on asphalt (black ice) you cant ride like summer or in 2wd thinking its summer... off course it will slip... but i can drive easy 50mp/h on snowy country roads on 4wd.. where are that speed limit on summer..

An update to my earlier post. Had about 8" of light fluffy stuff the other day followed by a fair amount of sleet. The General Grabbers were exactly as I suspected steering wise. Better than the Hak's. Traction was good but would give a slight edge to the Hak's. We'll see as time goes on & they wear a bit.

Cooper M&S look to be very good with all those sipes, I just wish that every-other block was missing on the outer bands to act as lugs (for deeper snow and slush), especially when the tread depth approaches end-of-life...in the late 1990s I had what was then called something slightly different, but was Cooper and appeared the same, they were great in snow and slippery conditions.

I also put on a set of General Arctic Grabber LTs without studs this winter and I'm surprised how well they do since they have less sipes than I'm used to with car tires. I'm really happy about the wear though as this truck has worn off the sipes from another winter tire brand in 1 season. I also liked that they were one of the cheaper options because these trucks eat soft tires anyway.
