Advice on up pipes and clutch
Hello everyone.....want to see what you did for up pipes.... noticed soot on the firewall and turbo lag along with lose of power and fuel economy....so looks like the doughnut gaskets are bad.....206K miles so not too shabby.....i have and early 99 (6/98) F250 super duty 4x4.....looking to do the bellowed up pipes.....where did you get them from? Looking for recommendations from users.....i don't have a boat load of money to just get the best of the best or the famous name to say I have it but I'm also smart and willing to spend on quality......also i have the 6 speed manual in my truck and again with 206K on original clutch thats getting a little soft i was thinking of pulling the trans to do both the up pipes and clutch rather than pull the turbo and the trans so any opinions on a good clutch kit? I do a lot of heavy pulling for work and off site.....not mudding or drag racing but heavy weight and pulling/towing/abuse.....not operator abuse because you see over 200k with the original clutch ....I know how to drive but it doesnt get pampered haha.....so any advice or suggestions as to who to or not to use or a clutch kit and up pipes? Thanks as always!

When I did the uppies on my 97, I got them from Clay at Riff Raff. Not the IH ones, but his brand. When I converted the dual mass flywheel to a single, I used the conversion from NAPA. IIRR it was made by Luc. I have had no problems with it, other it is a little grabby at times when trying to slip it a little on take off with a load.

I have Riffraff bellowed pipes on mine, fit great. I would purchase again. Check my thread for pictures, they are even ceramic coated.
The Luk kit for $300 is a bargain. Some guys here rock it with 160cc/0% injectors with no issues. If you do not plan on injectors more than that, Luk is for you. I have a 475rwhp rated SBC and am finally figuring out how to drive it, quite different than the Luk I had previously. If you ever need more clutch after smoking the Luk, the SBC is designed to use the Luk flywheel. So just resurface and strap on what you need.
