Got my 79 f250 out of shop yesterday daily commuter now (100 miles/day)
My wife got my 79 f250 4wd 400m out of shop yesterday, its been there since December 2017. She drove it 50 miles home and its now a commuter vehicle (100 miles a day). Until I get my excursion running. Or the roof replaced on my mustang.
I drove it here 2 hours from Tulsa last year, parked it and it didn't start again. Sat from Feb2017 to December when I had it hauled to the shop in miami. So even though I've had it a while I am just now learning about it. I drove it a couple miles last night. I'm pretty sure I haven't driven a carburated vehicle in 25 years or more.
The headlight and wiper ***** fall off, and I would like to put another radio in it.
I think all the only radios that you can hook a rear camera to are double din arent they? and the only way to put a double din radio in this is to cut on the dash, is that correct?
Is there any other way to use a rear camera other than through a radio?
I will be researching 6th generation truck threads here but if anyone has a suggestion or thread suggestion in the meantime feel free to advise

Pics of your truck please!
There are several cameras available. The one I like and have on three vehicles is a rear view mirror that attaches to existing rear view mirror. It has a forward looking camera built in. Has a back up camera that you can mount anywhere. Check Amazon. The only issue with that camera and Dentsides, is that the forward looking camera is directly in line with the top center dead spot for windshield wipers. But there are dash mounted units.

That sounds exactly like what I need especially if it records front and back. I shot a local drug dealer felon in self defense a few years ago, who was also a police informant, and have made some real enemies as a result.
I tried three times to upload pictures. The last time I just tried one in case there was a size problem and that didnt work either. I clicked manage attachments after I had uploaded them, and it didnt show any pics. I am using chrome browser

I have this one in my '79 f-150.

Single din. 7" screen hangs down away from the heater controls, does interfere with using the ash tray though. Plays CD's and DVD's, supports a backup camera, I bought one from Amazon for $15. Price is right and has worked great for me.

You can also buy any dash cam and hook it up facing the rear. I bought a Magellan similar to this. I love it! It's is simple to use and the vids are of good quality. You will probably just need to run a long power cord to the back, but these are easily available on Amazon, also. With the 128GB card, I am able to get 16hrs of run time.

The headlight **** can probably be glued to the metal shaft, because the correct way to remove it is to push a button on the switch assembly, and pull the **** and metal shaft out as one.
