Having problem with driver's side door lock
Put key in trying into lock to unlock will not turn. It will turn to the right kinda hard, turn to the left it's stuck. may break key off inside lock if I put too much pressure on it. It does it a few days then has stopped and works fine, this may be the last leg. What would cause this and how can I fix it? Thanks!

What he said. You need to remove the door panel and disconnect the linkages to the latch until you find the one that is binding up the lock cylinder.

I know time goes by fast.....there are a bunch of things I haven’t gotten to do but it literally takes 10 minutes to remove the door pane to see what is binding up. It’s been 2 months since you were asked if you had power locks.

Yeah I know My4, but not long after that found out I had prostate cancer, they caught it early just having radiation. But I'm good still working out at Y and I should be cured. Im just getting caught up again. Anyway, thanks, I know you telling to not be so slack, but this old retired career combat soldier of 25 yrs had to take care of that. I know a couple people that have been cured of prostate cancer. Hopefully doing projects around the house will keep your mind focused on other things. Get well soon!

Has someone moved the door striker.
If so the door may not be all the way closed for door latch assembly even if the door looks closed.
This will keep the key from unlocking the door.
Mine did that last year and I had to move the striker to get it to work.

I now wonder if replacing my striker made mine stiff. Unfortunately, I did locks and strikers the same day. The old door lock was fine but I got a set with the new ignition switch. I need the weather to warm up and the sun to hang around a little longer to inspire me to get after my amounting required repairs, troubleshooting and projects on this truck.
