1975 Exhaust manifold/header

I have a 1975 F100 with a 302, FMX transmission, rear wheel drive. I have an exhaust leak on the drivers side that is driving me nuts. Where is the best place to get a replacement manifold or a set of shorty headers for it? When I changed out my power steering gearbox I had a small valve??? with a vacuum line port in it that broke off. It had 2 small screws holding it on and the vacuum line wasn't attached to it. What is this piece called and where can I get one from or is it even necessary to have it on there. I don't have emissions testing here. I don't even have to get it inspected anymore. It had an exhaust leak before I broke it off and I can't tell if it's worse now than it was before.

When I changed out my power steering gearbox, I had a heat riser valve with a vacuum line port in it that broke off the left manifold.

D5TZ-9A427-B .. Heat Riser Valve / Marked: D5TB-9A427-BA / Obsolete

1975/76 F100 302 / 1977 F100 302 with CA emission.

The flapper in the valve gets stuck open due to rust, people remove it, weld up the holes it pivots on, then reinstall the puppy.

The left manifold is different with the heat riser valve.

NOS PARTS SOURCE in Olathe KS has 1 = 913-220-5746.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 1 = 800-476-9653.

So can I put a manifold from a 73/74 on it and just do away with the valve completely. I believe its leaking anyway and I know they are prone to cracking,

Also had anyone installed the Hedman 88400 headers on these trucks. I'm not overly concerned with how it would fit with the Y-Pipe because mine has dual exhaust run on it so I can probably work around that somewhat.
