Took the truck and camper from Michigan to Alaska, drove the length of the Alaskan Highway with no problems. It actually went so well that I found myself wishing I had bought the 10-2 instead of the 9-6. I haven't taken it anywhere with the 10K enclosed car hauler yet though.

Thanks for the info! Same truck and picking up my 9-6 in 3 days. 10-2 is too long for my parking situation. Plus, technically, I'll be on the safe side of my tire and loading sticker fully loaded.

Holy Smokes!!!! - how much did you spend on fuel? I just got back from a motorcycle trip from Tennessee to the Arctic Circle last summer. 11,300 miles in 27 days. We would pull in to a gas station behind these rigs and see them pumping over $300 in fuel for a fill up. I spent well over $1200 in fuel on my motorcycle getting around 45 MPG.
These campers were all over the place. I've never seen so many campers and RV in my life that I saw in Canada and Alaska. Hope you had a great time.

300 in fuel...in a pickup truck?
in order for a Longbed (49 gal) tank to cost $300 bucks diesel fuel would have to be over $6 a gallon....and thats assuming the fuel tank is COMPLETELY empty/dry!
Most expensive fill-up was in Toad River, British Colombia... $250.00... but that was Canadian Dollars, x the exchange rate of roughly $.75 reduces that to $190 US. I would say the trip was worth every penny and then some.
...here is a RV Park in Sitka, Alaska.
Do long beds automatically have 48 gallon tank? I don’t see it as an option on build site. Also how much difference do you guys see in backing up large trailers vs short beds.
