Ford Cruise o Matic rebuild.

Hello everyone! I have a 1977 F100 351m with a FMX Cruise o Matic transmission. (Dip stick goes into the pan) I just got this truck not to long ago and the transmission doesn’t go into reverse.. I tried adjusting the linkage and I made it worse. The transmission is also contaminated with coolant from the radiator.. is this transmission worth rebuilding? I want to keep it original but I’m having a hard time finding all the parts for the rebuild.

When I did that for a living a few years back parts for them were getting hard to find. I used VTP south for nearly all my parts. Look them up, they may be able to help you but you will like have to create an account with them. You'll hear mixed reviews on that model. If it were mine I'd consider swapping for something more modern due to parts availability. If you need to keep it, buy some books or find a older transmission builder to do the job.

wow that really sucks :/ I Have a C6 transmission from a 460 here. I guess It will have to do.. I mean after all this transmission doesn’t belong in this truck anyway. Someone must have swapped it in a long time ago.

It's not original, I already told you that. The FMX was swapped in from a car.

The only AT available in 351M/400 1977/79 F100/350, 1978/82 Bronco; 1980/82 F150/350 & Econoline was the C6
