I have a late 99 powerstroke that I've converted to 4wd. I have rebuilt the 4r100 front to back while swapping out the output shaft and tailhousing. Trans didn't have any issues before hand. Since being installed it has made a whine sound when in drive. If in manual 1 or 2 and reverse It doesn't make it. Once it hits about 35 mph in drive (when it goes to o/d) it starts making it. Second issue is it skips 3rd and goes to 4th and locks the converter. The converter doesn't seem to unlock and it won't downshift even if I shut the overdrive off. I installed a tugger shift kit during the rebuild. I have the tranny out for the third time now. Have pulled the valve bodies and pump out to make sure there weren't any stuck valves and that I had all the trans go pieces in the correct spot. OD light doesn't flash and I have ohm tested the solenoid pack. Also air checked all clutch packs while I had it apart the second time. The company is going to replace the converter do to the whine but I really don't think that's going to solve the problem. Anyone had this issue before? I have searched for the last month and went through everything I could come up with.
