dash cluster swap

I have read up on this some,,,and watched u- tube video's ,,,,,my truck has not got a tack,,,,however it is wired for one ,,, got a doner cluster ready to be installed,,,,first where does tach singnal come from ? computer ?second will this throw my speed-o off? oh 99 3.0 5 speed stick,,,doner cluster is 2001 sport track

I see you don't have any replies & I don't know the answers to your questions either, but maybe a trusted salvage yard has swap books that can answer your questions.
