Anymore, unless I am travelling away from home, I dont buy in the jugs. I have a couple of fuel stations that now have DEF at the pump. Way more convenient, and cheap - $2.50 a gallon. If I take long trip towing my 5th wheel, I'll throw a 2.5 gallon jug in, just in case, but even then that's probably not necessary anymore either.

Good deal. I believe I bought mine at the dealer for 10 bucks and change. But I live in the State of Taxation, New York.

Does that include oil and filter?

Wow, $108 and you supplied the oil and filter? Did you check the receipt to make sure they didn't charge you for oil and filter? My local Ford dealer has " the works " deal, $39 and they rotate the tires, oil/filter change, and check / top off all fluids. I do my own oil changes during nice weather, but in the winter I let them do it ( I supply filter and oil ).

$39 change is gas engines and up to 5 quarts. Dealer here does a $29.99 gas oil change for 5 quarts and filter.

Diesel is usually $150 plus for oil change if dealer supplies oil and filter.

IIRC, my dealer charges me $108.00 for oil and filter change. They also check fuel for water, top off windshield washer fluid, rotate the front tires, measure tread depth and brake pad thickness. They also check air pressure in the tires and test the engine coolant. If I have them change the air and fuel filters, it kicks it up to $280.00.

Whether it's for the truck or the car, if I go to AutoZone or similar and buy Motorcraft oil and filter, it ends up costing two or three dollars more than if I have the work done at Ford, plus I still have to do the work myself and dispose of the old oil.

Nooooo! I've seen the horror stories from folks who did that. I take my own oil as I use full syn, but let them make a profit on the filter. When they ask about topping off DEF, just say no as they charge dealer rates for a full jug even if they only use a cup. The Walmart brand is only about $9 a jug.

I found that out the hard way... about the cost of having the dealer fill the DEF. I think it was more than the cost of the jug because I think I paid more than the 10 something that I paid when I bought it at the parts desk. I just bought a Wally World jug of DEF and it was around 7 and change. I was surprised. That's the cheapest I've seen it.

That is ridiculous.
Oil and filter on a good day is at most 50.00 paying full retail. It's a less than 30 minute job.
Shop the sales, use the web. I just changed oil in my 6.7 using a top tier filter and 15w40 synthetic blend for less than 20.00 .

Motorcraft 15w40 at WalMart is over $4 a quart. 4 x 13 = $52 plus filter approx $18 plus tax puts it closer $75 for the oil change. Not sure where you are buying your oil and what you are getting for less than $20 for 13 quarts.

Must be dealer dependent? My dealer charges me $39.95 for my truck when I supply the oil and filter. My truck is a 6.7. And this includes tire rotation.

Seems like a great price for oil change, checking fluids, rotation.. However I can buy 3 gallons of 5W-40 for $75, Motorcraft oil filter for $20 and fuel filters for $60 for a total of $155.00.

That's significantly lower than $280.00 at dealership.

the dealers are trying to compete with the oil change places with the prices. the 29.99 is for a car/pickup with a gasoline engine. Not sure what filter they use on Ford vehicles.

39.99 for oil change and you supply oil/filter AND tire rotation is a bargain for sure in my books.

$155 this morning at my dealership for the works package. No DEF. This morning, they could almost have been described as an actual "Quicklane" too. Took about a half hour.
