C6 weird noise

Hi guys,
I just bought an 89 f350 with a 460 and It has the c6 transmission. When the truck is cold, everything is fine. When the truck warms up, the transmission will occasionally get real loud. When it starts to make this noise, the rpms do not change. The sound is not a whining or clunking sound, it sounds like When you turn the overdrive off. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks in advance for the help!

What sound does a transmission make when you turn the OD off? They shouldn't make any sounds, the only sound should be the engine running a higher rpm. Are you sure it's not your clutch fan kicking on and off?

The sound I mean is like it’s running at higher rpms, but it’s not, the rpms don’t change. Does fan clutch sound come in cycles?

I'd have to agree with this...

On a hot day with a pretty good load with the A/C on my 97 sounds like a C130 taking off when I am leaving a stoplight!!!

I would check your transmission fluid for a burning smell and if that's okay then it's probably like the other posters said just naturally loud. Mine's pretty loud at highway speed.
