Everybody still using the 6637 right?
Hello FTE brothers, I was cleaning out my garage yesterday and came across 2-brand new in the RiffRaff box Donaldson B085011 (6637), FREE to a good Home!
Guess what else I came across 1-brand new International BLACK CPS (1821720C99), yes it was one of the last black ones ever made. I managed to snag it up from RiffRaff before he sold out forever!
I also have the connector pipe and 2 clamps to go between the 6637 and the intake hose. PM me if your interested and I will send them out to you FREE of charge! BUT 1 condition to spread the wealth you can only select the A.)(2) two filters. B)the CPS C.) connector pipe and clamps.
I will send the connector pipe to someone who wants the filters IF they don't currently have the 6637 mod yet. I am asking nothing in return but will accept donations for freight/shipping!
PM me if interested. Just trying to help fellow FTE brothers out!

Turbo Stall
Hello. I'm new here. I have 2001 CC SB F-250 7.3 218k on it. It has 4" turbo back straight pipe, 6637 filter, edge evolution tuner. Since I put in the 6637 air filter it seems that I get turbo stall/ a fluttering noise, basically like it's trying to get more air and can't. A friend of mine has the same pickup only a 6spd and no tuner. He doesn't have this issue. Any help?

FIRSTLY... WELCOME to FTE!!
Let me guess... You only get that "flutter" sound on deceleration, right (particularly a rapid deceleration like when you just drop your foot off the pedal)? AND... your friend is not running the 6637 filter element, right?
Assuming that your answer is "yes" to the above questions, my understanding is that you are hearing it more than your friend primarily because you're running an "open" element air filter. Around here, it's been lovingly referred to as "turbo fart", and is the result of your turbo having compressed air into the intake system, but when you rapidly decelerate, the compressed air in the intercooler system can't get into the engine as fast as it had been previously flowing, so the imbalanced pressure tried to shove the excess pressure backwards, which it cannot do, and the result is the sound you hear is from the "choking" turbo wheel handling the pressure differential between the air filter and the intercooler.
I may not be exactly correct on the details of the above, but it's what I've taken away from the several discussions I've seen here in FTE about the issue.
Bottom line is that it is not a problem, and it also happens with every other type of air filter/intake system, but you just don't hear the sound as much when the intake is all closed up and contained within some sort of plastic housing... AGAIN, all of this assumes that you're experiencing what I've described and not some other phenomena.

Actually no. It's when i'm pulling a trailer and really only in OD. Everything sounds fine once it shifts into OD n I get the big whoosh sound. But when maintaining what speed I set the cruise at. It will get up to about 12-15 PSI, depending, and just sounds like it's starving for air. Doesn't do it with any other gears.

Sorry F250, for some reason your whole post didn't show up right away. My buddies pickup actually does have the same filter. He's the one that told me to put one on. I get the whole "whoosh" or as you say turbo "fart". It's while my pickup is accelerating or maintaining speed while pulling. I'm sure it's doing it while i'm not pulling. But it's more noticeable while i'm pulling.
