Installing paddle mirrors on 94 F-150

If possible I'm looking for anyone that may have went from the western swing away style mirrors to the smaller paddle mirrors and just the two hole mounting points. I want to know where I need to cut the hole at for the support piece that goes through the door and and where does that little arm mount to on the inside of the door? Thanks in advance.

This is where a trip to the local Pick N Pull would be very useful. Lots of trucks have those mirrors, you can take the door panel off and see what you are planning to do. Easy to take pictures and maybe even buy a few odd spare parts for the job. I will admit that from time to time I go and experiment on a junkyard truck before I do my own at home.
