Deer strike repair question

After driving for 43 years, I hit my first deer which happened only 11 days after I bought my 2017 Ford F-150 King Ranch, which was in showroom condition when I bought it. After taking to to a body shop with the quote from USAA, I was told everything would be replaced with new parts, except for a small dent in my hood. I am being told by the body shop owner that where my small dent is located prevents it from being pulled out without bonding and blending that spot back into the hood and then clear sealing the whole hood. I want to know from people who know more than I do about body work on newer F-150 hoods.

Do you agree with the body shop owner? The dent is on the lip of the hood where it curves down towards the grille. I can hardly see it without putting my hand on it and rubbing across the dent. It appeared to me more like a shadow in the paint than a dent I can't even see it in the picture I took when zooming in on it.

What is your concern? Is it that they will be repairing and refinishing your hood, or is USAA not wanting to cover the damage on the hood? You need to make sure that the body shop is versed in how to properly repair an aluminum panel if they are going to repair and paint it.

I was simply not wanting to have a blended hood on my brand new truck. I was able to get it fixed the way I wanted. I found a paintless dent repair specialist who was able to remove the dent without the need to paint and blend. 40 minutes and a $100 vs the $448 the body shop had allocated for its work on the hood repair. The body shop was actually really cool about it and I still would use them again. They did a great job on the rest of the repairs.
