Battery connection. If one of your cables doesn't have a good, clean, tight connection you can get the voltage to run accessories but wont handle current for engine or starter.

I can disconnect the battery when its running and it stays running. So not a batt problem, right? Bad starter solenoid wouldnt make it shut off when its running fine. Right?

My guess is somewhere to or from your ignition switch (or maybe replace the switch itself) there is a wire that needs replacing. Go through them all and see if there is an easy one to spot that is loose, melted, or sitting against something that gets hot.

There is a good thread on the wiring here...

Final answer?

So the other morning at 28 degrees the truck wouldn't start. Turn the key on and no start, no crank, radio was on so assumed coil would be powered. Had a spare igntion switch( the round one you put the key in), quick and easy to plug in and the truck fired right up. Left it just hangin under dash as i drove to work just fine, about 45 mins. After work i pluged the bad one back in and it started right up this time............ Gotta be the switch?

"the round one you put the key in" is not the switch. That attaches to the switch. The switch is then plunged into the wiring. If you still have it hanging under your dashboard I'd spend about 20 bucks and put a new switch in My ignition switch was doing the opposite of yours. The truck would start and run but the accessories wouldn't work. New switch fixed my problem and I suspect it will yours as well

well yes the part where the key goes in is the tumbler and my "back up switch" has no tumbler for the key, just use a flat blade screwdriver as the "key" on it.
