Frost On Winshield, SES, Dead Pedal

Hello all. This fall whenever it is cold outside of a morning and there is frost on the 99 F250 windshield, I immediately get an SES light as soon as the ignition is turned. Once the WTS light goes out, the truck fires up and the go pedal is dead as a door nail. If I idle for a bit and let the windshield defrost and send some heat to the "feet" setting after about 5 minutes my pedal is good to go the rest of the day.

No codes when I read from the data port.

My gut tells me I need a new TPS...does that sound right?

Thanks
RC

What are you using to read codes? Are you 100% sure your reader works on the 7.3L?

That is indeed a good question. I have used the reader on this truck back in 2011 when I last had a code...it has set on the shelf unused since. Perhaps that could be the problem with not reading.
