Cool 2019 Platinum

I've probably purchased ~8 new Fords from my local salesman over the years including a new Platinum Explorer for my wife last December and my last 3 DD Expeditions. I've been working with him for a few months trying to locate a 2018 Platinum model, zero luck.

I pinged him one last time tonight just to make sure no 2018s were available and he responded that the "2019 he ordered for me was scheduled last week, will be built in November, and he will get a delivery ETA tomorrow". I guess he knows me pretty well by now. I'm reluctant to buy a 2019 this early in the season assuming minimal rebates, but I'll see what happens. Maybe I wait until Christmas eve to go in and negotiate. ;^)

More to come....

Considering your loyalty to the dealer, they kinda need to throw you a bone and return some loyalty in kind.

Unfortunately I don't expect any special deals. Little 2019 inventory and Only a $1k cash back now, perhaps that will go up a little once we hit December. We'll see.

In my experience, dealers never look beyond today. "Can I get this deal today!".

That is why I am a "One only at this price" type of buyer.

I can play games too.

If any dealers watch this board, I am talking to you. Change your ways.

I rarely have to buy. I just want something new. So I can wait them out.

I fully understand. I took my daughter to my dealer this summer to get her 2018 F-150 and the people there now acted like I've never done business with them. Basically the old man who owns the place has turned operations over to his son who is so money hungry that he doesn't care if you walk.

He bent a lot when it was explained to him by the service adviser that my family and I have bought six vehicles there previously and that my daughter just returned home from Kuwait after a nine month deployment. So, we got a $55K truck that had only been there for five days for $45K.

If I go back, this fool will act like I owe him something. We're done, time to start a relationship elsewhere.
