'48-'50 ignition switch

I realized today while trying to install the ignition switch in my F4 that the wave spring is missing. Does anyone know of a source for the wave spring or do I have to replace the switch?
Thanks, Mark

I think I have a spare one that came with my repop DC switch. It's yours if you don't mind a repop spring. I'll look when I get back to the shop.

That would be great, Bob! I would be more than happy to pay you or at least reimburse you for postage. Thank you for the kind offer.

Sad news Mark, I can't find it. It's supposed to be in with the old electrical stuff. I'll keep looking though.

No pic in truck parts catalog, so I'm guessing this may be what you want.

1A-11581-B .. Ignition Switch Retaining Spring / Obsolete

1948/52 trucks; 1949/59 Ford Passenger Cars; 1955/60 Thunderbirds.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 34 = 800-543-4959.

See 11581 in car parts catalog pic:

Thank you Bill. It is the wave spring on the switch that Bob posted that I need. Best I can tell, the switch was used in 48-'50 trucks, late '47-'50 or '51 Ford car, and '47-'50 or '51 Merc.

6A-11572-B .. Ignition Switch / Obsolete

1948/50 Ford Passenger Cars / 1948/50 trucks / 1951 Ford Station Wagon. I don't have the Merc applications.

I don't have a car parts pic, the only pic I have is 1951 Ford cars, but not the station wagon, because this 'wave' spring isn't pictured.

How does the external bezel attach on a 48-51? I assume that there is some sort of retainer inside the bezel that snaps over the nose of the switch protruding past the dash panel, but my bezel doesn't have anything like that.

Iirc, you push the switch in from in back of the dash while holding the bezel in place, and then twist and lock the switch in place.

I called Dennis Carpenter this morning to see if they would sell the wave spring, no go. So, I decided to try to make one. I saw a rubber grommet in my electrical connectors box and thought that I would try rubber in place of the spring. I cut a washer from some adhesive backed 5/32" or 3/16" rubber I have. I stuck it on the switch to the 4 tabs that the wave spring sets on and it worked perfectly. The switch is in and feels solid.
Thank you for all the replies, Mark
