Paint Match Platinum grill bars

Need a recommendation for a shop in the Austin TEXAS area to sand and paint match a 2019 Platinum front grill and tailgate panel. My dealer is not wanting to take this on due to previous issues when they have done it in the past.

I'm also in the ATX area, I called like 3 local shops and all provided quotes. So pretty much pick anyone but the dealer and they will do it.

Key is to make sure they bead / particle blast the grill first.

Another option is to wrap them with matching vinyl. I know others have taken that route and it won't chip like the paint can.

plat grill would be hard to wrap given the design of all the holes

Yes with the Platinum grill there are too many openings. The look I am going for is a two tone with body color main bars and black inserts. With the Ford logo blacked out with body color letters.

I’ve tried multiple shops in North Texas also, no one will paint these bars, or wants to warranty the work due to the material. Apparently it flakes and chips often.

I too have had issues finding shops that want to take this on. I was looking to do the same exact thing that you are doing, as well as the side vents, emblems, and tailgate. Maybe it is a sign that I should keep my money in my pocket.... hmm.

Look into some plastidip options. It’s easy to use. Easy to remove if you don’t like it. I did about 6 coats of black and 3 coats of metallizer to get close to the magnetic gray. If it peels or starts to look bad, then it’s easy to go remove and go back to chrome.

i know the platinum grille is different, but the spray plastidip will work the same.
