Does anyone think think the right side and tailgate paint is not as glossy as the rest? It's hard to tell for sure, but I think it just looks that way because of the shadows cast onto it.
I looked for some 5.0 engine images, but didn't see one like this. This is the true definition of "clean"
Are those chrome pieces on the wheel wells called "Flares"? They really are not big enough to be considered flares, they are more of just a fancy trim piece. The XLT trucks usually came stock with these, but I believe these were added on this truck. Some people put them on to cover rust, but I don't think that's the case here.

Overall I don't think you're going to find a nicer truck then this one. I do agree that it is pricey at $6,000, but that is ultimately up to you and not us.
My biggest concern at that price is most insurance companies will only insure that truck for around $4,000, so in the event of an accident you will not get what you paid for the truck. If you decide you want it, then I would call around first to try to find someone that will insure it for that amount.

XL 2x4? For $6k? With the little motor? Sure it's clean, that just seems really expensive for what it is. I do like the 1996 trucks, by then Ford had pretty well worked out all the little issues and built a really solid truck.
Those aren't "Goodyear Wranglers" as the seller says. Minor detail I suppose.

She sure is some clean. If you tried to restore one back to this condition, could you for that money? That's the question you need to ask yourself when your in the market of any collector vehicle. This isn't really something you would want to use for a daily driver anymore but in lines of something to collect and potentially pass down one day. That isn't to say there are no longer enough of these trucks in this condition to actually buy for an all purpose vehicle but they're getting rarer everyday and I wouldn't advise that.Is a 2wd of this age worth that kind of money? Probably not for the purpose of buying as just another used vehicle.Surely there are far better deals on such trucks.Could you find another and or restore one for a collector to keep for life, like this one? Probably you'd end up spending much more bringing one up to this level. In this case here,a 4wd wouldn't add much value (Imo) due to the fact, this wouldn't be something for winter roads either way. These ones are hopefully passed between (if ever sold) to people who will continue to maintain and keep them as their previous owners did.....immaculate.
