Help! Previous owner removed one of the Code Scanner Wires
So, I've been having some issues lately with my truck. Runs fine when it's cold but when the engine warms up, it starts acting like it's flooding. If it's cold outside, I can generally feather the throttle and get it to smooth out and continue on. But after work, on the 12 mile trek home, when it 75 degrees...not so much. I have to pull over and sometimes feathering the throttle a bit smooths it out, sometimes it just dies. Wait a few minutes and start the truck...runs fine for a short time then starts acting up again. Tonight, in a 2 mile space, I had to do this 3 times.
So today I bought a code scanner and went to run a diagnostic with it. Found the connector and went to plug it in. The big black connector is there...but the grey one is missing. As in not there. It looks like someone has played around with that harness and taped it up. My guess is some brain donor saw a wire that wasn't connected to anything and clipped it.
So the million dollar question is...NOW WHAT? I can't run the diagnostic without connecting that wire to the scanner.
Any help would be much appreciated.
