Things intended to uplift non-whites,isn't an attack on whites old farm truck. One group doesn't need to be oppressed for the other to raise. In fact, studies have proven, that when all groups of peoples are treated as equals,it uplifts all peoples.
Your view that whites and indigenous are on a teeter todder is a false view. That old lie has kept my peoples down for hundreds of years and this lie is dying.

In a back room, Los Angeles restauranteur Brandon Hawkins stood with $11,000 cash, made of six rubber band-held stacks of $20 bills.Hawkins, 36, had flown in from LA earlier that day to make perhaps the largest legal purchase of a cannabis product to date in the United States: the Leira Cannagar.A cannabis cigar produced by Las Vegas cultivator Virtue and production company Leira rests in a wood grain case at Nuwu Cannabis Marketplace on Friday, December 28, 2018. Nuwu, owned and operated by the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, is Nevada’s only dispensary to also offer a drive-thru service.Benny Tso, tribal council and former chairman of the Las Vegas Paiutes, said Friday’s purchase served to “complement the store and complement the industry.”

As marijuana consumption lounges move closer to opening in Las Vegas, Tso predicted that exotic cannagars like the product sold Friday will be a regular commodity for VIP clients at the lounges. “This is what marijuana table service will look like in Las Vegas,” he said.

"When you see a 40% correction, you see everyone jumping ship." said Wilson, "But, the opposite happened."

He said institutions and other investors continued to buy so much that the ETF didn't have to redeem shares. Instead it brought in more assets and issued more shares even during the correction.

This ETF has taken in more than $700 million in assets under management in the last 12 months, making it the most popular consumer sector ETF in 2018, according to XTF.com data.

He said this is a sign that this is an industry evolving from a $10 billion to $20 billion market currently, to what could be a $500 billion market over the next 15 years. His estimate combines medical and recreational marijuana with hemp and CBD oil.

Hemp and marijuana are both cannabis plants, but hemp has less than 0.3% of THC, the psychoactive chemical that gets folks high. Marijuana has between 5-35% of THC.Wilson said currently the legal and illegal recreational marijuana market alone in the U.S. is probably worth $55 billion to $60 billion.
He said that is expected to grow to $100 billion On top of that, globally about 40 countries have already or are in the process of legalizing it, which is expected to be a $200 billion market for just medical marijuana.

With Legalization Of Hemp, Is The Marijuana ETF A Buy?

“In 2019, I think that we can expect to see more of the same type of change, but maybe at a more rapid pace,” Jolene Forman, senior staff attorney at the Drug Policy Alliance, told Newsweek.“

The train has left the station. Americans of all political affiliations and almost all demographics support marijuana legalization,” Forman added. To date, 33 states and the District of Columbia have passed laws legalizing cannabis in some form.

Plus, this year’s farm bill included unprecedented language allowing farmers to grow hemp, a crop from the same cannabis family as marijuana.

New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are expected to be the next states to pass measures legalizing marijuana for recreational use this year. But many states across the U.S. are likely to expand existing marijuana policies or create new ones.

(RTTNews) – Canopy Growth Corp. (CGC, WEED.TO) is preparing to enter the U.S. hemp market following the passage of the U.S. 2018 Farm Bill, which legalizes hemp production in the U.S.Canopy Growth said Wednesday that it started to add strategic hemp assets to its portfolio in 2016, focused on consumer-packaged goods. After realizing the market potential for hemp and future CBD products, the company began investing in field-scale operations in late 2017 in order to vertically integrate its hemp business to mirror its existing cannabis business.

“Canopy has been preparing for and investing in this opportunity for several years now, through strategic acquisitions, infrastructure expansion, and extensive internal research and development. With the door now open, we are moving fast to bring our considerable resources to establish the same market leadership position internationally that we have earned in the Canadian cannabis market,” said Bruce Linton, Chairman & Co-CEO of Canopy Growth.

BOSTON — Massachusetts is inching closer to licensing so-called “cannabis cafes” where individuals could smoke the drug in a communal setting, while also allowing for the home delivery of marijuana.

Four Maine legislators are pursuing legislation to seal or expunge the records of people with past marijuana convictions following the legalization of recreational pot, putting Maine in line to potentially follow other states that have cleared criminal records for conduct that is now legal.

If Maine lawmakers choose to move forward, they will have numerous templates to follow from around the country.States including Massachusetts, Oregon, Maryland, Rhode Island, California and Washington, along with city courts in Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle and other local jurisdictions have taken steps to purge pot convictions at a policy level.

B.C. Cancer will lead a first-ever, national clinical trial that aims to answer whether cannabis plant extracts truly help with symptom relief.

Recruitment for the 48-day trial in 150 patients will begin soon after the expected Health Canada and ethics approval is obtained. Patients in Vancouver, Abbotsford, Prince George, Victoria, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Kingston and Toronto will be enrolled in the trial investigating whether cannabis properties reduce cancer-related symptoms including pain, sleep disturbance, anxiety and nausea.

It was only a few years ago that Opaskwayak Cree Nation was near bankruptcy and third-party management.

Now, the northern Manitoba First Nation is the largest shareholder in Canada’s largest private cannabis retail operator.

OCN Chief Christian Sinclair has been called the “kingpin of the pot industry” but he jokes he prefers the title of “titan of cannabis.”

The First Nation was looking for economic opportunities and discovered the retail side of the cannabis industry was going to be the most lucrative.

Good luck,Cree Nation!

AWESOME!!

As an American cannabis player, MJardin Group Inc. is a rare breed. Not only has the Denver-based company entered Canada with plans to build pot production facilities across the country, but it is doing so by tapping an underutilized resource - the First Nations community.

MJardin pledged about US$100 million to build a series of cannabis facilities in three First Nations communities that will create hundreds of jobs while kickstarting the development that some Indigenous chiefs hope will lead to a sustainable and profitable business in the fast-growing pot industry.

"Cannabis is the new buffalo," said Rishi Gautam, chief executive officer of MJardin, in a phone interview with BNN Bloomberg. "This is a very thoughtful approach and we’re going the extra mile to make sure this isn't just another production facility."

Gautam said partnering with First Nations allows MJardin to uniquely position itself in the Canadian market by establishing production and retail operations in high-traffic areas that are often overlooked for development.

“How many licensed producers have a dispensary next door to a casino?,” he said.

“There's a lot of complexity in dealing with First Nations,” Sharpe told BNN Bloomberg in a phone interview. “You have to be comfortable with the culture and I think some other big producers are intimated by that.”

The company also established an advisory committee to include First Nations leaders to ensure its strategy isn’t just commercially sound but also culturally aligned with the community.

“Canopy didn’t take the time to understand the culture and the values and what made them tick," Gautam said.

Going forward, Gautam said MJardin also has deals with all 13 Mi'kmaq First Nations in Nova Scotia for a cannabis cultivation and retail facility as well as a similar arrangement with Peguis First Nation, the largest First Nation in Manitoba.

"We are a profitable business for sure, but we’re also aware of the underserved nature of the members of this First Nations community. We hope to touch as many numbers as possible," Gautam said.

'Cannabis is the new buffalo': How MJardin emerged as a big player in First Nations' pot ambitions

MJardin is a global cannabis management platform with extensive experience in cultivation, processing, distribution and retail. For over 10 years, MJardin has refined cultivation methodologies, developed state of the art facilities and implemented vertical integration for and on behalf of license owners. As a well-capitalized organization, MJardin continues to pursue strategic expansion and M&A opportunities across global legal cannabis markets. MJardin is based in Denver Colorado, with offices in Toronto, Canada and Barcelona, Spain.

Oh.I guess I should help explain how important this is.Not only are first Nations underfunded due to corrupt govs not fully honoring treaty rights (laws they claim to be the supreme law of the land I might add.You know, like they say of the constitution here in the states?) so they can't afford proper health (did you know your better off in prison? I'm not kidding.More funds are provided to inmates than folks on reserves) but did you know that 1 in 4 Native Americans are food insecure? This is why it's very heartwarming to see a big co. show they care.It matters greatly. This consideration will save life's.We're not talking about money so people can go drive fancy cars, buy boats, atv's and big houses (lord knows they're every bit deserving as anyone else of those things though) but money that can help sustain life.

States are increasingly legalizing marijuana, but the drug still isn’t mainstream enough to convince CBS to let a cannabis company run a Super Bowl ad in 2019.

George Allen, president of Acreage Holdings, said the ad focused on how medical marijuana has helped people cope with pain, including a child with Dravet’s syndrome that suffered from epileptic seizures. The ad does not promote Acreage products, which makes it different from other controversial Super Bowl ads that have been turned down by networks in the past.

For example, a spot from GoDaddy was once denied because it was considered too sexually suggestive. By going public with the news of a rejected ad, Acreage is following the lead of other companies that have had their ads turned down.

The company said it plans to publish a 60-second version of the spot on its website so people can see what the fuss was all about.

Meanwhile.................
Drug overdose is the leading cause of unintentional injury-associated death in the United States.

Despite reductions in opioid prescribing in recent years (1), opioid-involved overdose death rates have increased, largely driven by heroin and illicitly manufactured fentanyl (2). Many persons who self-report heroin use have a history of misusing prescription opioids (10). Addressing prescription opioid use is an important step in curbing opioid-involved overdose deaths. Interventions such as using Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs and practices that align with evidence-based adoption of the CDC Guideline can improve prescribing decisions.

Opioid Prescribing Rates in Nonmetropolitan and Metropolitan Counties Among Primary Care Providers Using an Electronic Health Record System — United States, 2014–2017 Weekly / January 18, 2019 / 68(2);25–30

The drug epidemic in the United States continues to evolve. The drug overdose death rate has rapidly increased among women (1,2), although within this demographic group, the increase in overdose death risk is not uniform. From 1999 to 2010, the largest percentage changes in the rates of overall drug overdose deaths were among women in the age groups 45–54 years and 55–64 years (1); however, this finding does not take into account trends in specific drugs or consider changes in age group distributions in drug-specific overdose death rates. To target prevention strategies to address the epidemic among women in these age groups, CDC examined overdose death rates among women aged 30–64 years during 1999–2017, overall and by drug subcategories (antidepressants, benzodiazepines, cocaine, heroin, prescription opioids, and synthetic opioids, excluding methadone). Age distribution changes in drug-specific overdose death rates were calculated. Among women aged 30–64 years, the unadjusted drug overdose death rate increased 260%, from 6.7 deaths per 100,000 population (4,314 total drug overdose deaths) in 1999 to 24.3 (18,110) in 2017. The number and rate of deaths involving antidepressants, benzodiazepines, cocaine, heroin, and synthetic opioids each increased during this period. Prescription opioid–related deaths increased between 1999 and 2017 among women aged 30–64 years, with the largest increases among those aged 55–64 years. Interventions to address the rise in drug overdose deaths include implementing the CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain (3), reviewing records of controlled substance prescribing (e.g., prescription drug monitoring programs, health insurance programs), and developing capacity of drug use disorder treatments and linkage to care, especially for middle-aged women with drug use disorders.

Drug Overdose Deaths Among Women Aged 30–64 Years — United States, 1999–2017
Weekly / January 11, 2019 / 68(1);1–5

Deaths involving synthetic opioids propelled increases from 2016 to 2017 across all demographic categories (Table 2). The highest death rate was in males aged 25–44 years (27.0 per 100,000), and the largest relative increases occurred among blacks (60.7%) and American Indian/Alaska Natives (58.5%). Deaths increased across all urbanization levels from 2016 to 2017. Twenty-three states and DC experienced significant increases in synthetic opioid-involved overdose death rates, including eight states west of the Mississippi River. The largest relative rate increase occurred in Arizona (122.2%), followed by North Carolina (112.9%) and Oregon (90.9%). The highest synthetic opioid-involved overdose death rates in 2017 were in West Virginia (37.4 per 100,000), Ohio (32.4), and New Hampshire (30.4).

In the United States, drug overdoses resulted in 702,568 deaths during 1999–2017, with 399,230 (56.8%) involving opioids.

Through 2017, the drug overdose epidemic continues to worsen and evolve, and the involvement of many types of drugs (e.g., opioids, cocaine, and methamphetamine) underscores the urgency to obtain more timely and local data to inform public health and public safety action.

Drug and Opioid-Involved Overdose Deaths — United States, 2013–2017 Weekly / January 4, 2019 / 67(5152);1419–1427
