1966 F100 on a F600 frame?

Hello!
I’ve been assisting a friend with a project, bringing to life a 66 f100. It’s been in his family for 25 years. We ran the Vin on the door and the title and it all checks out with the story that we knew. But we decided to find the vin on the frame and it wasn’t what we were expecting. It’s a F60CR vin. What gives!??? Anyway. Should we be worried about the title ? We’re these swappable? The I beams all have 65 on them engine is a 88 351. So it’s kind of a Frankenstein.. I’d love to run both VINs but would want it private In case we might have issues.

Post the VINs here. Several people can decipher them for you. And you can get partial information here: VINwiz Decoder

If your paperwork VIN shows F10CR then the 6 on the frame is a stampo. Happened lots. The F600 had a solid front axle and was I think 165" wheelbase and duelie rearend. It is kind of hard to confuse the two

F10CR does not occur after 1964, because the C refers to a 292 2V

F60CR: 1966/78 C = 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine.

F10 does not decode to "pickup" until 1973.

So did it come from factory like this ? Why would it be different? I wouldn’t think 600 and 100s were even compatible

I still say someone had "fun" stamping the frame. They are not interchangeable. If you have twin I beams up front you have an F100.

F600s had larger wheels than F100s so larger front fender radius and I believe a step in the rocker structure which was omitted on F100s by at least 1965 which would also make them harder to mistake one for the other.
