Idk much about the ranger I知 getting and need some advice/ tips for it

I am 18 and buying myself a cheap 1992 ford ranger for 1500$ and I need some good tips, tricks, and suggestions for it and maybe if you know any good exhausts or sub systems for this I壇 like that too. If you want to see any pics of the truck for reference to this then txt me at 845 421 0593

well you dont say which motor it has, auto or standard, 4x or 2x so you wont get much info without that to start with. There are not a lot of options for the ranger family as far as upgrades. I have a 94 and had a custom exhaust made up at an indy garage with a high flow cat, and magnaflow muffler. he fabricated a new Y pipe and he took the exhaust up to 2 inches and made the thing as straight as he could and minimized the bends needed. I also run a CAI with a K&N filter on it. A good tune up and possibly an injector cleaning or R&R will help some. So let folks know what ya got and see who responds with info for ya.

forgot mine is a 4.0 5sp SC, 92 if its the big engine its what a 2.9 or something? Look at the ranger station for a lot if tech stuff: There are some reall knowledgeable folks here also to ask questions of.

The first thing you need to do is make the truck reliable.
You need to change all the fluids and filters, flush the cooling system, replace the thermostat and radiator cap and add fresh coolant, don't forget the rear diff. change that fluid as well.
Check the brakes and replace as nessessary, also flush the brake system.
Check all lights and tires, check the date code on the tires and replace the tires even if they look good if they are 6 years or older.
Then, and only then should you should you consider Mods or stereo equipment.
