12000lb Rockwell 'tie rod" options for wide tire conversion-daytons
HELLO,
I've installed wider dayton centerless floaters on the steer axle's of an 80's f800 with rockwell 12lb front. The Rockwell-schematic notes the steering arm, which installs in the bottom of the knuckle, a "tie rod'.
Soo, here's the issue, the configuration geometry currently installed is contact/causing rub with the wider front tires installed. Im having no luck with the local heavy truck yard as liability will not let them discuss suspension components. The net is my answer so ive been led to believe.
Im looking for tie rods to be used in place giving me the geometry i need(1" inward)...Any ideas or help regarding this hickup would be greatly appreciated.
Local machine shop can bend them in the inch but that is of last resort as id like to just swap them out.
