As Abe said, the '53s didn't have a fuse panel. They did have a couple of automatic circuit breakers. Automatic, as in they reset themselves when they cooled.
If the high-current situation persists, they will keep breaking and resetting. They work much like a mechanical turn-signal flasher.
I know this doesn't help at all with your question, but it's a little piece of Ford truck history.
