Being budget minded, in addition that to the facts that I do not live in a snow zone, I am not racing, and my Transit Connect is a minivan, not a sports car......I would probably just buy the cheapest tires that I can find, then drive them until bald. While the OEM tires are fine for my driving habits and conditions - I would not pay that kind of money for those tires. Especially tires that coast twice the price of the less expensive tires.

As of today, I see amazon.com pricing the OEM tire,Continental ContiProContact Radial Tire - 215/55R16 97H

at $126.99. Dealerships typically quote at or around $200, then offer you some kind of discount or coupon price for a set of 4.

On the low end of the price spectrum, Milestar @$46.99. I believe that Milestar is a brand which is also sold at Wal*Mart, at or about the same $50 price point.Milestar MS932 All-Season Radial Tire - 215/55R16 97H

Staying with the same OEM tire size, BFGoodrich has several options. Both are within the same price range as the OEM Continental. Quite a bit to choose from, and stay within the OEM spec tire size.

Moving up 1 tire size, there are a lot of other options from other brands as well.
