So I replaced the ICP. I didn't replace the connector as I later have seen some do. I wiped the connector end off with a rag. Upon first start up of the day, the truck lopes and is way down on power. Yesterday, I let the truck idle until it smoothed out. Once I started driving it was blowing lots of smoke and it finally cut off. It took about 5 tries to restart it. Once it restarted, it acted like it was only running on one bank of cylinders. Then it smooth out and idled fine. Any ideas as to what might be happening?

Before starting it cold check the HPOP oil level.

 

 

Some of what you describe sound akin to EBPV issues but that does not explain the hard start issues - to me anyway. But then again libraries are filled with with information that I don't know of or understand.

I'm having the same trouble.
installed new icp and pigtail Sunday and engine light came on.
Truck idles and runs like crap.
I reinstalled old icp and light went out . Idles and runs fine.
I called parts house and explained what's going on.
I know most sensors don't have warranty.
But at $180 I'll argue all day over it.
But they ask me to come in when I get off work today. We're working a shutdown 12 hour 7 days a week now.
So I'm going there tonight to show them when new icp is installed engine light comes on.
Hope you figure out your problem.
But could be the new ones bad.

 

Well they replaced bad icp for new one.
engine light is off and truck running normal.
Guess the new icp was bad after all.

 

Was the bad one a Motorcraft? Glad you got it working.

Aero..inspect wires at the driver side valve cover and also the uvch clips. Move them around to see if loose

 

Prescottice it wasn't motorcraft . From advance Auto . Can't remember brand. It was three letters. My like trw or something.
truck was running bad and there only place open when I get off work.
