Regarding Ranger -- It's Dumb as Dirt to Buy the First Model Year
#16
You might think the new Ranger is ugly. Other people might think it's a good-looking truck. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, not just you. Besides, judging by the vehicles mentioned in your signature, I would guess that you're not interested in a smaller truck anyway; not if you're currently driving an F-150 in the longest possible wheelbase that Ford will sell it in, and before that you had a string of Super Duties. Am I correct? And the casual buyer is probably not going to realize that the current Ranger has been around for 8 years in other parts of the world. He/she is only going to know that it's new here in the US, and that will be just fine with them. Besides, look at the Nissan Frontier. It's been around in its current form since at least about 2006; and Nissan is still selling every single one of them they can build! People buy it because of its low price. By not doing major styling updates every 3 years like everyone else does, Nissan is able to undercut the Frontier's competition by at least $5000.
Besides, you not knowing me from atom, what do you know if I will be downsizing trucks again in the next few years?? Point blank, YOU don't. Oh, and talk about the Nissan??? OMG, really?? That truck is TRASH (see all caps)...and the sales numbers show it!! If FORD is only targeting the Nissan and those drastically dead numbers, then YES, the Ranger will be a success. lol However, I would not bet on it. Oh, to help prove the sales numbers, I've provided you with a picture. Hope that helps...
If you want to buy a new Ranger, please be my guest. I'll wait for Ranger v.2.0 in 2020 or 2021 when its a truck built for North America.

Just back from Vegas -- saw the new Rangers @ SEMA and you're right about being ugly................too much time was paid to aero (in the wind tunnel).............body lines are hideous, engineers went way over board on drag-coefficient considerations --- unless, of course, you consider yourself a test dummy, test guinea pig.............
IMHO, FORD has missed a really good opportunity here, but maybe the Ranger v2.0 will be a better looking and functioning truck.
