Description:
Sold our travel trailer, and need something more kid-learning-to-drive and wife friendly. Would take on the road without concern and do, regularly travel with it between Tx and Ks. It has some dings and cosmetic flaws as one might expect, its completely functional and a great ride. Has never let us down. Can get more specific pics but wanted to get things rolling. (well i don't _want_ to... ).
* 4.30 diffs

* new gasket where oil filter/cooler goes into front of block, no leaks
* recent front hub / unit bearings
* new rear driveshaft u joints
* new AC compressor, bearings started making noise and clutch came apart, but it never failed to work, has never needed recharge
* milemarker manual locking hubs
* headrests added to 3rd row
* weathertech front and cargo area mats, husky 2nd/3rd row mats

* someone tried to pop drivers door lock and wont take a key anymore, two fobs and two keys
* security system a bit picky, likes to be locked/unlocked via fob
* has had 2 spark plugs blow out, both timesert fixes, *the rest of the timesert kit stays with the vehicle*
* has had motorcraft oil and filters since I've had it (~70k miles)
* fumoto oil drain, stock plug in door pocket
I've been looking to move from an F250 into an Excursion, and yours might be just the ticket. I have a question or two about the possible transaction (would be flying in and driving home) but I don't think I have enough posts / history to be allowed to message you. Can send me an email address where I could pester ya'?
If you've already sold it, congrats!
I've had two Excursions before. Both were 6.0L Powerstrokes. The first was fully stock, beautifully maintained, one owner, with some big dents. It was 2WD and I sold it for fear of getting stuck with my landscape trailer. I traded it in for the second one at a sketchy RV dealership in Belton that I cannot recommend after they stopped answering my calls. The second was 4WD fully Bulletproofed, and in pretty good shape. But it was LOUD (as only 6.0s are) and rusty (it spent some time up north...). It *did* get stuck in the mud once so I was grateful for 4WD. But I got tired of the monthly $2000 visits to my diesel mechanic so I sold it to a kid.
I'm hoping to pick this one up today, and finally have something quieter and more reliable than the other two! Just need to learn how to deal with Timeserts now...
I'd rather do one Timesert than a turbo, though... or an aftermarket cooler...

So as it stands, no 4wd. I'd be fine to negotiate to sell it as is, or I'll keep poking at it and see what I can come up with.
@Lance Helmert I do not off the top of my head, but if it turns out we need to figure that out I'm glad to help sort it out.
