2004 Ford 150 tranny swap

so guys I need a little help. I have a 2004 Ford 150 4.2l v6 heritage with a 4r70w trans. I put in a tranny from a 2003 not sure what model I think it was Xlt. It has the same numbers on the case rf-f7sp-7006-AA I cant get the tranny to shift out of first gear? Are these interchangeable?

Nope not interchangeable, the 2004 trucks had the 4r75e (w) and not the older 4r70w. Is that the casting number you are looking at or the white tag on the transmission? What did you do with the turbine speed sensor?
