Extended Warranty or not?

I ordered a 2019 Superduty SuperCab, 4x4 Lariat with electronic locking 3.73 axle and almost all the other bells and whistles on 27 Sep. Today I got the VIN and a build date of the week of 27 October. While I'm waiting I'm curious what the prevailing wisdom is about the extended warranties. I've gotten them on all my previous vehicles but do have to admit that I doubt I've gotten my money's worth. So the question is what's going to fail within the extended factory warranty time/mileage that wouldn't have failed during the original warranty period?

Seeing it's a Lariat, I'd get one from Flood Ford.
Lots of fancy stuff!
I feel it's an absolute must when you buy a diesel.

Get one. And get the rental option.

They did the fuel tank TSB and the rental guy was waiting on me at the dealership. Dropped off the 250, rode with the rental guy to his office. Signed some papers and off I went.

When they were done with my truck, I just handed over the keys to the rentals and got in the 250 and went home. Well, and filled it up with gas, too.

Im considering ordering ine too. If i do i will likely get the warrenty because of the random electrical and software problems i hear about. Theyre so labor intensive to track down it would cost a fortune.

I opted for an 8 year 125k mile ext warranty. Priced them online, my dealer matched the online price plus $50.

Which deductible did you choose? Mind sharing what you paid?

I have only read a little about the Extended Warranty. I am taking delivery of a 2019 F-350 4x4 Lariat Diesel CCLB in a couple months; ordered it on 10 October. I have heard that you can purchase the EW up until the original warranty expires - 3yrs/36k miles. Anyone know if that is correct? I intend to purchase the PREMIUM PLAN which I've heard is 8yr/150k miles. If I can wait to purchase it until I go over say 35k miles, I figure that I'll get close to 180k miles coverage on the diesel motor. I know the initial coverage on the motor is 5yr/100k miles. Sure wish these warranties would cover the emissions system - FAT CHANCE.

On this note, I saw on this forum someone posting that a DPF replacement would cost $8000, something I saw somewhere else also. I asked the dealership, and they said $3,400. That was good news. Got to figure that I could do a bit better at a decent diesel repair shop. But that is hopefully WAY DOWN THE ROAD, both literally and figuratively.

The ESP's start from in service date of the truck. So it is not cumulative with the 3/36 warranty.
