1960 F100 Original pictures / information

Hey,

I've been a member for a while but haven't really posted much. I'm doing an original restoration on a 1960 F100 Styleside 2WD short bed. It has a 292 w/ 3 speed. Looking for any information or pictures on some details such as the following:

-Are the grill / headlight bezel / bumpers supposed to be painted?
-What is the closest to original tires that can be obtained?
-What style dog dish goes on the wheels?
-Where does the spare mount? I see the indent on my rear wheel well but I have no hardware or holes for mounting.
-Does the hood get a liner?

Thanks in advance!!

The front is either all white or all chrome. My truck was altered by the previous owner. You can see it in my profile album. He used hillbilly chrome across the top bar and painted the rest white. That is the only part of the cab that isn't original paint. My truck never had a hood liner.

If it was not a "custom cab" the grill, headlight bezels and bumper were white. If Custom cab, the upper grill' bumper and headlight bezels were chrome. I am pretty sure the lower grill was aluminum. Most people chrome a steel version.
There was a mounting hardware for the spare on the drivers side of the bed, but IIRC, it was an option.
No hood liner.
Tires and hub caps will need help from others.

Thanks guys!

What you say sounds right. I have the aluminum lower grill and I got chrome upper grill & bumpers off a custom cab. They are a little dinged up so it sounds like I should paint them to have a "correct" look for my truck.

I am still puzzled by the headliner because my hood definitely has staples in the metal supports that look like they were for a hoodliner. Perhaps someone added this later?

If you can post some pictures of the staples that would help.. But as far as I aware no truck in this era had a hood liner, I do not think any Ford pick up truck used a hood liner until the bullnose era..
As for hubcaps.
Pic below.

Here is a picture of the underside of my hood showing the staples.
