walbro 255 gph gas pump

I want to install a Walbro 255gph gas pump to replace my aging original gas pump

bought the walbro with my 1996 E350 7,5L ( 460 ) in mind .....they sent me what is supposed to be a direct replacement

removed the gas tank , removed the original pump ,it does not look the same at all ....Unless the pump itself is hidden under the big cover

anyone knows ?
thanks
Dan

Curiosity drove me to Walbro's site---good gravy are their installation instruction woefully lacking any info about actual installation of their parts.

Would a good quality OEM fuel pump not be the better way to go with this?

I would think that screen was snapped to the pump, but I cant imagine it being in that housing, but it may be.

Yes the actual pump is inside that tan colored resovoir and it can be dismantled, when I tried to do this upgrade the 255gph was too long and wouldn't fit but that was quite a few years ago so maybe there is a pump that will fit now.

finally ,
after some fooling around , I did it
yes the pump is inside the plastic housing
problem : the walbro is about 3/8" longer , I had to cut down the bottom seat by that amount
it went in easy after ,,,,,

quite simple , beside getting the housing modified
now 255 gph .....:-) should suffice for the moded 460
thanks
Dan
