What is this doohickey?

Aplologies in advance for the dodgy pics.........
While admiring the "almighty" 250cid log head in my '76 F250.......

This little doo-dad caught my eye.............. Up on the firewall, behind the air filter.

Gone through the workshop manual, and the wiring diagrams.
Best I can tell, it's possibly something to do with the indicators. Almost looks like a Reverse light diode pack for Auto Trans, which is odd, as it's a manual truck........ unless part of the loom has been replaced.

Anyone able to enlighten me? I'm guessing its an Aussie inclusion?
