Great looking truck.
‘Is your air intake cut open so it’s pulling warm engine air into the turbo? You may want to cap that and look into the doodad mod so you’re pull cooler air into the turbo...

Did a few little maintenance odds and ends this afternoon. Replaced a burned out marker bulb and gave the front end a much needed greasing.

Installed the Hydra with 1023 tunes. $400 isn’t cheap but the Black Friday sale helped justify spending the money.

Replaced CAC boots with a set from Riff Raff Diesel. Job went well except for the almost 19 years of dirt, grime and oil that needed cleaned off before reassembly. The valley in my truck was nasty. A mouse or mouses had made a nest in there at one point and I’m still finding crap they drug in there.
I had a “hey what’s that” moment. While using the shop vac to get the big stuff out, I noticed a stud sticking up in the center of the valley. I thought that’s weird I wonder what’s for. Digging at it and some more shop vac exposed fingers instead of threads, looked like a place for a harness to be pushed on. Then it moved. It was a push clip for the hood insulation. I’m only missing one more so maybe when I fix that leaky pedestal I’ll find it.

Not specifically today, but I did injector cups, up pipes, glow plugs, water pump, and a whole bunch of other messy stuff a few weeks ago.

Mine got some much needed love yesterday. Fixed my transmission pan leak, drain and fill transmission fluid, oil and filter changed, fuel filter, rear differential, and transfercase fluids changed. Found I need some tie rods so held off on the front dif fluid until the front end components come in, figure If Im going to remove parts to replace them should do front dif at same time. Also waiting on a water pump that started to leak before I do the coolant. Slowly getting the truck back to how it should be.

Turned out great, thanks!! No more diesel in the coolant, no more stinky cab either. Ole girl's coming up on 300k.

After I finished that it was new wheels, tires, and tinted the windows.

Since I'm feeling confident about my UVCH's I decided that it was safe to make a 2 hour drive to the hay auction.

Yes, it's dirty. Yes, I'll wash it in the spring. Yes, the pump spit and dreweled down the filler...

Cleaned the air cleaner and rotated the tires in getting ready for the 3rd heavy haul from San Diego to Missouri. Two more trips and it will all be over and I cant wait. Got stuck idling on the ice on the 40 for 8 hours trip before last.

Ultra heavy load!

That's just for pictures right? Not actually traveling like that? Need to put the piano in font of the car to get more weight over the trailer axle and off the tongue

You look like you seriously need airbags or WDH. I definitely would not travel like that!

One of your tie downs is twisted. Do them all that way and they will not vibrate and hum at speed.

Hutch and Harpoon mods will cure that obnoxious fuel burping. Got a shoe soaked once and it was perma-stink, had to throw them away. Plus you'll get 3-4 more gallons in the tank.
