Installed Cyclops. Whew, hard work

Pics for Byron

Ta da

Close up

As it looks, its a simple install, pull old relay, replace with the remote control one. Cyclops relay is dead upon vehicle shut down, no power to IDM, or PCM, fuel pump, whichever relay you choose. Then when you use the fob to disarm the relay it all works normal. Even has a valet choice to start it 10 times before its rearmed.

Now after all that hard install work its time for a shower n some sleep b4 work tonight

Replaced the tailgate hinges, and striker bolts. Itís crazy the amount of wear that those parts saw in the last 20 years. Tailgate is now very snug when closed.

Definitely seen some abuse over the years...

You guys and your welders making all of this cool stuff... My bank account hates this forum!

I went out to the "back 40" of the property to check on the truck under the RV cover that it sits under next to the tree line. Still looks great from being washed after our camping trip up to the mountains. I set mouse traps in and around the truck, so had to check the traps to make sure they were still set.

The new striker bolts for the tailgate came in yesterday. You donít realize how bad yours really are until you see the new ones...

Colorado350 Nice work. Where did you acquire your parts from?

My tailgate has never been the same after a amped up barrel horse backed into to it at a high speed while it was down bending everything and slamming it shut. Funny thing was my keys were setting on the tailgate. I could hear them flying through the air, couldn’t see them cause it was NIGHT! Found them about 25’ in front of the truck.

Striker bolts- https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F301962208176
These can be fine tuned when tightening by pushing them forward or backward as you tighten them.

Tailgate hinges: Dorman 38648 Tailgate Hinge Kit
Amazon Amazon
Amazon says they donít fit but they fit perfectly. And the Dormans are cheaper than OEM.

Hinge bushings: Dorman 38641 Tailgate Hinge Insert Kit
Amazon Amazon
The last set lasted 2 years, but the old hinges were pretty rough so Iím guessing they chewed them up. I didnít need them with the new hinges.

Topped off the water meth tank with -20 windshield washer fluid. Then checked on the 5th wheel water heater anode since it was a little pitted in April

And promptly changed it out. From what i can tell the other one was magnesium, so switched to aluminum this round.

Debating towing double for the 1st time with this 5th wheel since we're taking friends with us n their 4 mountain bikes won't fit on their bmw or audi. Along with 3 kayaks and our own bikes. Probably wheel the little utility trailer over n see how it looks n go from there.

Hootr is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Replaced all my shocks yesterday. 18 yrs old, thought it was about time.
Old ones weren't in too bad of shape although one of the fronts was sticking a little.
The front boots seemed to be pushed down lower. More than I would have thought. Is that normal?
Ride was definitely better.

Didn't do today, but a few miles ago put on those Centramatic wheel balancers. Made a big difference
