GVWR make any difference with NH Registration?
Hi all. I am looking at F350s, diesel CCSW, that we will use to tow a fifth wheel. We don't have either one yet, working on it for launch next year. I'd like to find a low mileage 2017 rather than new, but that's all in process right now.
I see that many of the 350s come with the derating line on the window sticker. I would rather have one without, so that the door tag showed me a GVWR and CCC as close as possible to the design values. I guess that the reason most people take the derating is to reduce registration and insurance costs. So, for us in NH, does it matter?
Thanks!

Paul,
Welcome to the NH Chapter.
Only 2 months late on a reply. Not too bad considering.
Unfortunately the NH Chapter has been a ghost town lately and some of the FTE regulars from other states have taken over
Unfortunately I do not know a lot about registrations but I do know NH uses weight, not sure if it is base or capacity, and value to figure the reg fees. I know I registered my 07 Ranger and about 2 weeks later (in 2017) traded it in and when I registered the 17 Edge it was close to $600 and $70 was credited from the Ranger.

I had forgotten all about this, LOL! Thanks for the response. We actually ordered a 2019 F350 about ten days ago; it's still just a SRW. I guess we will find out early next year when we actually register it. Given that the price of the truck was just about $70k, that will probably kill us with the registration more than anything. I will see what Ford puts on the stickers; since we ordered it, there shouldn't be a derating sticker but we'll see.

Good luck with the new truck.
Glad you found (ordered) something you like and need.
I gotta say WOW on the price though...
I knew truck prices were climbing but I was thinking average was 40-50.
I had to think real hard on the Edge at around 25 after rebates and trade-in. I actually got the Edge because a similarly priced F150 was 80 more per month. 0 interest really helps at times
And I am excited for the Edge ST and Ranger but the ST is out due to base tag of 40.

I think it was three years ago, we decided it was time to trade in our 2003 Expedition. Man, we loved that truck! Eddie Bauer edition. Did a lot of towing our old TT with it, didn't even know the trailer was there. It was also great for around town, Home Depot, etc. Anyway, we looked at new Expeditions and we could not believe the stickers. A little over 60k for a new Eddie Bauer. Since we had nothing to tow at that point - we had sold the TT, were looking forward to getting a 5er in a few years - I bought a Tacoma for about $30k. Been using it ever since, will trade it (or sell it if the trade doesn't look good) to help with the F350. We are doing a pretty well equipped Lariat, and wincing at what we are paying for that. Would have liked a Platinum, but the Lariat is already more than enough to spend.
We talked to a few dealers, wound up at McFarland in Exeter. Pretty easy transaction, did it all over the net and email then just went in two weeks ago, signed an order form, left a deposit. Looking forward to getting the truck in another 8-10 weeks!
