Figured out it's a legitimate wire. It's for the glow plug relay monitor circuit.

BTW, Cleaning your hard points on these rigs are something to be done at least bi-annual. Otherwise..................

Thanks Denny. I put a new crossover cable on today because the old one was wiggling pretty good. Also noticed my alternator is putting out 14 volts and climbing to 16 the longer the truck idles. I think it may be time to replace the wiring and grounds on it with all new also since they have 178k miles on them.

I believe, fingers crossed, itís fixed.

TLDR: new ground wire terminals and charged battery.

We cut off the ends of the ground wires and put new bolted terminals on. We also put both batteries on charge. They were down to 50% on the chargerís meter but only 12.5 volts. Load test showed fine and multimeter was showing 13.5 volts,BUT, when running the multimeter is showing 18 volts! Charged battery to 77% and 95% and shows 13.1 on battery charger. The battery meter in the truck does NOT pull down now like it did and had full pedal on 2 restarts even when glow plugs are activated.
