TRUCKSTOCK 2019

TRUCKSTOCK 2019
I wanted to wait until after the Pennsylvania Truckstock was over, but since it has now been cancelled here it is.
With the construction at Fall Creek Falls State Park, it will not be conducive for Truckstock for the next couple of years. Before we picked FCFSP in 2015 I also looked into Pickett State Park in Jamestown, TN. After spending 4th of July there with my family I realized that this would be a great replacement for 2019. This is a smaller park than Fall Creek Falls, but it offers a full range of cabins and campsites. The park is right next to the Big South Fork Recreation area and a short drive to the Big South Fork Railway in Sterns, KY. The cabin and camping rates are also more favorable than FCF.
The cabins range from 1` bedroom 'condo' types, to one or two bedroom, Rustic cabins, all the way to three bedroom modern cabins. All cabins and campsites are within 1/2 mile of each other. The park has a small beach with paddleboat and canoe rentals and is popular with kayakers. There are several trails throughout the park of varying difficulties. The smaller and older cabins are adjacent to the campground and the lake area, while the larger three bedroom modern cabins are across the highway in a secluded section. I have taken the liberty to put a hold on the 5 larger cabins for September 12-15, 2019. These cabins have 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, complete equipped kitchen, dinning are, large living room with covered rear porch, grill, picnic table and firepit. The full cost for 3 nights for one of these cabins is $427.54 (including taxes and reservation fee) These cabins are reserved in my name (Joe Dunn-Truckstock) so you will need to call the park to have a cabin transferred to your name, Pickett State Park at (931) 879-5821 daily from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST/CDT. For other cabins or campsites you may call this number or make reservations online at https://tnstateparks.com/parks/cabins/pickett or https://tnstateparks.com/parks/campground/pickett .
Here are some photos of the park that I took a few years ago. https://get.google.com/albumarchive/...9Hv?source=pwa

Yes, Pickett - Sept 12-15.
As I stated in the original post, if anyone wants one of the modern cabins they need to call the park Pickett State Park at (931) 879-5821 daily from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST/CDT and have the cabin transferred from my name into theirs. You my choose any cabin other than #18 which I plan to use to accommodate for Patti. If anyone opts for an older cabin or the campground, they can be done online but please post it here (or PM be)so we can keep track.

I reserved Rustic Stone Cabin #3 some time ago, just to have the option. At the moment I am tentatively planning to attend.
I'm honestly not thrilled with the lack of facilities in the park, i.e., restaurants. It appears it's about a 20 minute drive to Jamestown, where there is a decent selection.

They also do the Hunts brothers pizza and wings during all open hours.
