Dodge Hemi question

My buddy was telling me about someone who bought a new Dodge Hemi and was told by the dealer that the computer chip limits the engine horsepower for a certain period for engine break-in, then increases it for another period, before increasing to the full horsepower. Is this true or is the dealer good at making up stories?

Dodge Hemi question

I've never heard anything like that in my life...but anything is possible I guess. The owner's manual on my truck said that NO break in period is really needed. So a break-in period is not mandatory...it's just something that can't hurt, ya' know what I mean?

No, not true at all. Who ever told ya that was lied to, or likes to shovel the ol' BS.

In reality, the computer is the biggest limiting factor on the new Hemi engine, but that can be overcome with a performance PCM upgrade, of course.

I've owned three new rangers and I must admit that they all felt fairly weak for the first few tank fulls. Why that is many may speculate. but this is the gospel from my past experience!
speak at you later.
