Welcome to CT, I think. Most people are trying to get out of this state rather than move in. I'm not that familiar with Stamford, but lots of traffic down that way. The one upside (if you want to call it that) to CT is there is no vehicle safety inspection, only emissions so you'll need to have an emissions test and VIN verification done and will be good to go. I'm sometimes amazed at some of the junk on the roads around here, but they must be able to pass emissions.

Northern part of Stamford is much quieter than the south side where the city is. Stmaford area is quite expensive as well

Thanks, I’m coming from Kentucky, Lexington area, I am planning to keep the truck registered in Kentucky, as we are keeping the same address (not selling the house), so is that still going to effect me with emissions or anything like that?

If the truck has plates from another state on it they cannot enforce emissions testing by CT standards, but they also have a 30 day requirement to transfer your plates and vehicles into CT once you move here permanently. I'm near Groton, CT and the sub-base so there are a lot of out of state plates around me. Not sure how the Stamford area is. I do have one friend of mine that moved here from Michigan and kept his home in Michigan and is renting it out. He kept his Michigan plates since he had a house there. He bought another house here and about 4 months after he moved in a police officer stopped by his house and questioned him on whether he was a temporary resident or permanent and then gave him a warning ticket to get his car registered in CT. I think he could have been fined. He found out the police officer lived on the next road over and took notice so unless something like that happens to you it shouldn't be an issue.

we are more or less doing the same thing, and I plan to keep the truck registered to that address in Kentucky as that house we still have access to and could move that at a moments notice if we had decided to do so… but we are planning to make both states a permanent residence if you will, now I just need to find a model railroad club that I can join in the area and some FTE members in the same area to meet up with for some fun
